One of my staple WeHo favorites. Izakaya to the unknown is a Japanese homestyle cooking that comes in tapa portioned plates. I’m no Katsuya fan but they really do redeem their points back for the Izakaya by Katsuya nook on 3rd st.

I’m only human, so it’s only natural to become a lazy oof especially during the holiday seasons! Sorryyyy so to kick of 2012 here’s what I’ve been up to for the lst month!

It was my friend Jessica’s we will not share her age birthday (haha) and went to Nobu for some pre-celebrations. It’s been a long time since I last had a meal here much less been in the area. Oh how I miss WeHo and the better days I had there! Anywho we started of with an eggplant miso and tofu tebanyaki followed by a megitoro hand roll, hamachi, salmon sashimi, and uni sushi.

Yes it was definitely YUMMMMMYYYY or my new word scrummilicious. Julia surprised Jess with a carmalized banana tebanyaki dessert dish which look good too. I didn’t get a chance to try it since I my stomach was blowing up like a Macy’s parade balloon!!!

Our overall meal was good and the waiter was very nice and humorous. I definitely wouldn’t make Nobu a daily habit to eat at just because their price range is a little higher than other sushi joints. A birthday like this was a good excuse to make my way here!
Overall Rating::

I kept this a secret from all my sushi addicted friends because it’s not a scene like Katana but the food is SOOOOOO much fucking better here. So this place doesn’t look like Nozawa or Sugarfish but who gives a shit about decorations when it’s all about the content!?

Okay okay so this place has been open for like more than 20 years which makes it pretty legit. The owner’s motto for serving the sushi…the bigger the better. Price is amazing and the service is great! Woah woah before you get ahead of yourselves this place doesn’t fuse or “Americanize” the simple and pure concept of a SUSHI BAR. So please don’t get excited and picture a kinta roll or everyone’s favorite (and shame to same mine as well) spicy tuna on crispy. No, at Noshi we go old school おすし/Osushi style. My personal faves are the Hamachi, Unagi, Negimaguro, and Saba (わたしははまちとうなぎとねぎまぐろとさばすしをとてもすきです!)

It would be 6/6 if it wasn’t a Cash ONLY place! Yikes but don’t worry there’s an ATM machine inside the place.
