Behind the Seams:: Pester
It’s been a long 3 weeks in Los Angeles…long story short but I recovered the rest of my lost luggage at LAX…yeah don’t ask but posting up the rest of the behind the seams tokyo designer itnerviews!
How did you start in fashion?
I began fashion pattern making and then design when I was just 18 years old.
What does the name of your line mean? And how old is your line?
“Pester” is used for the literal definition of children wanting something and poking or keep on nagging someone else until they get it. Simultaneously concentrating on the English culture. My line is in its 4th year and going strong!
What was this seasons color palettes?
The focus was on a royal navy color, very rich in the dark blue and within the color also the meaning that the pieces are rather luxurious.
Can you describe to me what your creative process is like?
My process is very simple first think of designs, choose fabric which I want my designs on…all of the fabric designs are 100% originally designed by me. I tend to use wool alot.
Do you have a certain era of fashion you tend to take inspiration from?
I’m very fascinated with the English pop culture from the 60’s and 70’s
What’s your goal for this year?
I want to increase our production and obviously start on next seasons collection. Definitely return to England for a little to visit and get some more inspiration from.
